Ingredients
- ½ cup pine nuts
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- ¾ cup olive oil
- Dash red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Quickly toast the pine nuts in a sauté pan on high heat for a few minutes or until the nuts begin to show color.
- Remove from heat and cool
- In the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade add basil, garlic, and pine nuts and then process into a thick paste
- Add olive oil in a steady slow stream
- Add red pepper flakes, salt and pepper and then pulse to incorporate
- Set aside in a sealable plastic container
